"Our Lady of the Cedars Helping Hands" committee has been formed to respond to the social concerns of our community.

Its main focus is to establish ways and facilitate programs that extend a helping hand to those who are in need and are trying to achieve self-sufficiency.

Volunteers will be invited to participate in these prgrams, so that we can all respond to Jesus' call:

'whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me"
(Mt 25:40)


How can the committee help?

The committee will implement programs to assist those in need. The targets of these programs will include:

(1) Assisting those who are struggling each day to meet most basic needs
(2) Establishing a professional network to cope with employment loss
(3) Assisting in medical needs
(4) Providin emotional support
(5) Assisting in legal matters

The committee will serve as a confidential link between concerned parties.

How can our parishioners help?

(A) Participate in th eprograms put in place by the committee. Some programs will require:

(1) Monetary donations to "OLC"s Helping Hands
(2) Provision of pertinent information
(3) Professional assistance on a case by case basis
(4) Volunteering of time
(5) Visiting the sick and lonely

(B) Pray for those in need and those who can give a helping hand.
