Message from the president:

I believe I share the same sentiments with all of you when I say I am excited to join and continue the journey of growing Our Lady of the Cedars church and community.

It all started 18 years ago when a maronite priest came to Houston and started a dream. Building the largest maronite community in the USA was not an easy task. Today, our parish consists of 600 registered families. We have a very large CCE program of almost 300 children and now we have started working on building a school for the generations to come.

The talent, experience and commitment among the members of this parish are incredible and were crucial for this plan. As the new parish council president for the year 2009-2010, I look forward to working with each one of you.

Our mission needs your help. Besides financial support, we need your talents and time. There is something for every one to get involved in. Whether you wish to work with children, assist the ushers or sing with the choir, each role is important. We are all family with one another. Let us all contribute, side by side, so that our church family keeps on growing. Every one of us has been given a divine talent to make a difference in other people’s life.

Finally, I want to stress on the importance of maintaining open and positive communication not only within the parish council but also between the different organizations and our community. This will allow us to realize our dream and to pass it to the future generations.

If you have a comment or suggestion, please approach anyone from the parish council or the other organizations and may God’s grace and wisdom guide us all as we continue the journey of building Our Lady of the Cedars.
